Jack Franks Faces Late Campaign Filing Penalties

With all the money that State Rep. Jack Franks has taken in since his first campaign in 1998—over $1.6 million through last June–it is probably amazing that more slip-ups in timely reporting have not occurred. In fact, because this year’s is a third slip-up, the State Board of Elections staff wants Franks fined $6,450.

The Demcratic Party legislator, however, has filed an appeal, which he declined to share with McHenry County Blog.

This October, the State Board of Elections cited Franks for not having reported five spring contributions totaling $8,600 (and ranging from $600 to $5,000) in a timely fashion.
