Corruption or At Least Politics in Wisconsin: “Same Whole with a Different Colored Dress”

This weekend was a busy one, with a meeting in Naperville, a swim meeting in McHenry, my wife’s firm’s holiday party in Rosemont, church and a Christmas pageant in Lake Zurich.

At the dinner Saturday night, we arrived late, taking an hour and 45 minutes to get to Rosemont with the Northwest Tollway being backed up well past the toll McDonald’s sign.

Being the last two there, we didn’t get to sit together.

I was sitting next to a man who did contractual work for the State of Wisconsin.

Besides regaling me with tales of ice fishing with a now Southern California brother who refused to dress warmly for ice fishing, seeing winter Lake Michigan surfing on Milwaukee TV and snow mobiles that race on water in the summer, he said one of his colleagues described Wisconsin state politicians of a new party as the

“same whore with a different colored dress.”

That ranks right up there with Chicago Tribune columnist’s “two-headed goat” description of his “bi-partisan combine.”
