Oberweis TV Ads Less Self-Centered

After being fined by the Federal Elections Commission for apparently being too blatant in running television ads for Oberweis Daily featuring himself, Jim Oberweis seems to have toned down the self-emphasis on this summer’s round of commercials.

Coincidentally, Oberweis has announced July 6th that he is thinking about running for Denny Hastert’s congressional seat, assuming the former House Speaker does not run again.

In Oberweis Dairy’s December TV ads, there was more identification of the former and probably future candidate.

In a letter one constituent received the weekend before last he wrote that State Senator Chris Lauzen was thinking about challenging him.

Not a bad reverse twist.

Oberweis served ice cream on Paul Caprio’s Family PAC cruise last summer. It will probably happen again Thursday, August 9th on The Bright Star. The price is $85 for one, $160 for two and the donation levels go up from there. Honored guest is Michael Steele, who ran for Maryland’s governor’s office last year.
