Three NW Herald Commenters Target Bill LeFew

Last week, I suggested that the Northwest Herald’s comment section has added a new dimension to political campaigns.

It allows candidates and their supporters to test market, so to speak, campaign themes and rebuttals.

That happened under a Wednesday article, “Attorney mulls run at Bianchi,”

Three posters also took the opportunity to take shots at McHenry County Republican Central Committee Chairman Bill LeFew. You can decided if they are cheap shots or not. LeFew’s day job is McHenry County Treasurer.

One, using the name “Antipolotics,” wrote (in part)

To those of you who say Lefew (LePewwww) does not want Bianchi as S.A. are kidding right? Lefew doesn’t/can’t control Bianchi? That is a bunch of bull. That big boy who can’t control his office (mainly because he shows his face once every other month or so) has his hand so far up Bianchi, he does control him.

And, “VOTEWATCHER” added,

The county treasurer’s office has misplaced tax payments, shuffled money from one county account to another so the innocent taxpayer does not have a past due tax bill and all this without being held accountable to the public.

“Bohica” added,

Lefew (go to the office once a week Bill) is a JOKE and the GOP in McHenry CO is falling apart.

It is certainly possible that all three of these folks are Democrats, but since LeFew is not up for election in 2008, it is also possible that someone(s) contemplating challenging LeFew for GOP chairman is (are) trying to soften him up.
