“Attendees Can Ask Questions, Not Give Opinions”

The headline writer at the Northwest Herald captured so well the purpose of McHenry County College officials holding three public meetings on its “Hush, Hush; Rush, Rush” baseball stadium proposal, but not being interested in anybody else’s opinion. Jim Butts wrote the article.

The second page headline reads,

“Attendees Can Ask Questions, Not Give Opinions”

This is just a continuation of the whole process.

“You can listen…
if we’re not in a secret meeting…
but we won’t answer any questions.

“Oh, maybe to the Northwest Herald,
so they won’t do a story on the perhaps-shaky finances,
but not to any ordinary taxpayer.”

If you attend, remember not even McHenry County College can repeal your First Amendment Right to offer opinions on public issues.

Oh, yes, the college will accept written opinions at the end of the meetings.
