LIFELONG FOX VALLEY RESIDENT ANNOUNCES BID
FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE

Carpentersville, IL September 4, 2007 – Lifelong Fox Valley resident Jim Krenz, a Republican, officially announced his candidacy for State Representative in the 49th District, which is currently held by Republican incumbent Tim Schmitz. The announcement took place at Krenz’s business, Amy Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Inc., which is located in the north end of the district. The Primary Election, which will take place on February 5th, will have the winner taking on any Democratic challenger, with no challenger currently announcing their intentions to run.

“As a lifelong resident of the Fox Valley region, I have a vested interest in serving the 49th district in Springfield,” said Candidate Jim Krenz. “Not only have I called the Fox Valley region my home my entire life, but so have my parents. The Krenz family has been present in the Fox Valley region since 1896 with my grandparents living in Carpentersville.”

Issues Krenz will focus on during the campaign includes education, healthcare, fighting tax and fee increases, cutting down on wasteful State spending and bringing more money back to the district for infrastructure and special project needs.

“I want the people of the Fox Valley to know that I am one of them and I am on their side fighting for them and what they believe in,” said Krenz. “I know how you feel when you get your pay check that barely covers the bills and you see the State take their cut of it. The State then takes their chunk and spends it on crazy stuff like costly policies that were passed because of Representatives trading votes, tens of thousands of dollars for flights so the Governor doesn’t have to spend the night in Springfield and money being spent on people and families who will be pulling two, three and even four pensions from the State of Illinois when they retire.”

Krenz, who was once an elected official, has been extremely involved in and around the Fox Valley region in multiple capacities. When residing in Elgin, Krenz served as a board member for the Gail Borden Public Library Foundation and also served one and a half terms on the Gail Borden Public Library District as an elected official. Krenz also has been involved in different trade organizations such as the Home Builders Association of Greater Fox Valley, where he served as an officer and director, Quad County Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, where he was the past charter founding member and first President, and also with the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago, where he was a past director as well. Krenz also served on the Algonquin Zoning Board of Appeals.

Currently Krenz serves as owner and President of Amy Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Inc., which is based in Carpentersville, but once was located in downtown Elgin, that currently employees 22 individuals. Krenz also hosts a weekly radio show on WRMN radio called “Your Home Matters,” which gives listeners the chance to call in and ask Krenz, dubbed as “the doc,” questions relating to their homes.

Krenz’s Campaign will be lead by sports and public relations executive Joe Stefani. Stefani, who currently is the Director of Public Relations for the new and extremely successful Chicago Shamrox Indoor Lacrosse Team, which plays out of the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, comes to Krenz’s Campaign with a wealth of experience in politics with state and local elections.

“I am very excited to be Campaign Manager for Jim’s Campaign,” said Stefani. “Jim is a hard working individual that I feel will make a significant change in Springfield. Mr. Schmitz wants to run a campaign based on his record and we plan on doing that.”

The Krenz Campaign will make a major announcement tomorrow, Wednesday, September 5, that will set the tone of their campaign of doing what is right for Illinois.
