Message of the Day – A Tee Shirt

I thought my 10-year old was finished having fun at McDonald’s Play Land.

But Saturday Labor Day Weekend he asked to go again.

We had been to Burger King in McHenry, but had not been back to Crystal Lake since the whooping cough scare.

“Don’t you have a book in the trunk?” he asked on the way home from a sleepover with a friend in Lake in the Hills.

I did.

It was former Governor Dan Walker’s autobiography,

“The Maverick
and the Machine:
Governor Dan Walker
Tells His Story.”

He played and I read.

I discovered that McDonald’s not only has three levels in its play land, but video games.

After several hours a lady came in with wearing this tee shirt.

with silk screen tulips and

underneath.

It came from a Rockford conference.

We got to talking and she told me about her remarkable mother, Edie Stanldley, who had just had a car accident near her home in Columbia, Missouri.

Her husband died when the kids were young and she raise the four.

There were other trails in her life, which I probably would have remembered if I had written this last week, as I intended.

Maybe her Crystal Lake daughter will add some details in a comment.
