Comparing County Web Sites

When I was trying to find a photograph of Kane County Board member John Noverini while writing an article on his switching from the Republican to the Democratic Party before announcing a run for judge, I scoped out the Kane County Board’s web site.

I found a photo, but to get a clear version of it I had to email a request to Noverini. I used his county email address, but you will be impressed to know that he used his personal email address to send his reply. I asked for a copy of his press release for judged as well. No use of public dollars to send me his political information.

You can see what I found on the Kane County web site, even if you have to click on the images.

I decided to compare what Kane County tells about its county board members with what McHenry County reveals.

I picked Jim Kennedy’s web page.

Yes, I selected him because he, like Noverini, is a Democrat who also switched parties, although Kennedy did so before getting elected, not afterwards.

The most obvious difference in the two web pages is that Kane County has a link on each county board member’s page where one can discover the salary.

Wouldn’t that be an interesting addition to the McHenry County web pages?

The biographical information, present and past, is more extensive on the Kane County web site.
