Greenberg Demands Bean Return Congressional Tax Hiker Money

Congressional challengers have a hard time making the mainstream news media, but that doesn’t stop them from sending out press releases.

Here is one from 8th congressional district Melissa Bean challenger Steve Greenberg:

Greenberg To Bean: Return Money From Tax Hiker Rangel Melissa Bean takes $23,000 from liberal Democrat proposing the largest income tax hike in U.S. history

LAKE ZURICH 10/31/07— Congressional candidate Steve Greenberg today demanded that his opponent Melissa Bean return $23,000 in campaign contributions from radical liberal Congressman Charles Rangel of New York. Rangel is proposing a $3.5 trillion income tax increase—the largest in U.S. history.

“Silence amounts to an absence of leadership and the silence from Melissa Bean is deafening,” said Greenberg, a successful businessman and entrepreneur. “If these tax increases are enacted, an economic tsunami will sweep across the Northwest Suburbs and sap the vitality and independent spirit that make them so special. By keeping Rangel’s donations, Melissa Bean is demonstrating solidarity with Rangel’s desire to raise taxes and take more money out of the pockets of the individuals, families, and small business owners of her district.”

Greenberg also noted that Bean’s Democratic colleagues in Cook County government and her allies in Springfield, including Governor Rod Blagojevich, have made a mess of county and state budgets and are proposing various large tax increases to compensate for their ineptitude.

Greenberg concluded, “Melissa Bean has chosen her liberal big government, tax and spend friends, Nancy Pelosi, Charles Rangel, Moveon.org, etc., over the best interests of the individuals and families she is supposed to represent. When I am in Congress, I will empower suburban individuals and families by lowering taxes and letting them keep more of their hard-earned money.”
