ROBERT ABBOUD FOR CONGRESS ANNOUNCES THE CAMPAIGN MANAGER
Barrington Hills, IL – Robert Abboud, who is running to unseat eighth-term Republican Rep. Don Manzullo in Illinois 16th Congressional District, announced today his campaign manager, Ed Yoon.
Yoon is an experienced Democratic campaign operative with several years of experience directing and organizing electoral and issue advocacy campaigns and organizations throughout the United States.
Prior to joining Abboud’s campaign, he was the National Outreach Director for the American Democracy Institute, a national non-partisan organization founded by national political and business leaders to convene and empower leaders, organizations and young people.
In 2006, Yoon directed one of the largest and most high profile independent expenditure campaigns of that election cycle for the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund to successfully defeat the House Resources Committee Chairman Republican Rep. Richard Pombo in the California 11th Congressional District.
He was also the Oregon State Director for Americans United to Protect Social Security, the largest national effort in 2005 to successfully defeat President Bush’s top domestic agenda, and the League of Conservation Voters’ independent expenditure campaign to defeat President Bush in 2004.
His other professional political experiences include work for two U.S. Senate races, labor unions, and more.
Yoon graduated from University of California, Los Angeles in 2001 with a B.A. in Political Science.
Robert Abboud is a nuclear engineer, business owner, and the President of the village of Barrington Hills. He is a resident of Barrington Hills since 1968, where he resides with his wife, Patricia.
