Bianchi Expense Accuser Identified

Woodstock’s Kristen Foley, an attorney formerly employed by McHenry County State’s Attorney Gary Pack and supporter of McHenry County State’s Attorney challenger Dan Regna has been identified by Northwest Herald reporter Brandon Coutre as the one who sent a letter complaining that State’s Attorney Lou Bianchi spent tax money improperly

On Thursday, the recipient of that letter, the Illinois Attorney General’s office, ruled that it did not merit criminal prosecution.

Craver’s article points out,

“The county Auditor’s Office approved and paid all of the expenses.”

This is the complaint that McHenry County Republican Central Committee Chairman Bill LeFew played off when he said he would resign from his party post because it might put him in conflict with his official duties as McHenry County Treasurer.

Regna claimed no knowledge of the letter.

Bianchi said it was just another example of “negative campaigning and dirty politics.”

The Attorney’s Registration and Disciplinary Commission lists Foley’s “registered business address” as the City of Naperville. That’s a lot longer drive than the courthouse for a Woodstock resident.
