During Monday’s District 300 legislative briefing, Superintendent Ken Arndt announced the death of Dorothy deLacey.

He said that was why the flag at deLacey Family Education Center was flying at half mast.

The 95-year old was a former administrative assistant to former district superintendents, retiring in 1974.

She served eight years as district treasurer and was on the school board member for eight years, four as president.

The school facility was named after her in 1992.

Her funeral services were held at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Dundee.
