Notes from State Senate Candidate Bill Gentes

I don’t know why, but local Democrats seem to be more adept at using the internet than Republicans.

Maybe they have just figured out that I am willing to pass on information that newspapers, with their limited space caused by declining advertising are not willing to publish.

Here is the latest campaign email from Democratic Party Illinois State Senate candidate and Round Lake Mayor Bill Gentes. He is running to fill the 26th district seat being vacated by Bill Peterson.

The Republican candidate is Dan Duffy. I haven’t gotten anything from him.

In any event, here is what Democrat Gentes sent out today:

Fundraiser Scheduled– So Save the Date

The life blood of a campaign is its volunteer base, but the second most important thing is money!

Congresswomen Melissa Bean is going to host a fundraiser/reception for me on April 19 from 4pm to 6pm at the Barn of Barrington (1415 S Barrington Rd Barrington, IL 60010).

I have a prestigious host committee as well:

  • Senator Terry Link
  • Senator Susan Garrett
  • Senator Michael Bond

The cost is $75 for an individual, $300 as a sponsor and $500 to be a host. You can donate easily online with this link at ActBlue which is my online donation program.

See you there!

Don’t Forget about my Blog on the Campaign Website where I publish about 2-3 articles a week, for your enjoyment!

Help me afford to go the Distance

Last month, I won the Democratic Primary for the 26th Senate District in a landslide! I carried 92% of the precincts by hard work, lots and lots of phone calls and knocking on doors to meet voters.

This fall, I am facing a wealthy Republican who has never held elective office and is trying to buy a seat in the Illinois Senate. I will outwork him, but to be as effective as possible, I need to match him dollar-for-dollar. I have raised a good deal already, but need to raise about a million dollars to become the next State Senator from this area.
