When the Law Is An Ass – Part 2

So, I’m watch ABC World News Friday night and what pops up but the Illinois case of Alton Logan, the man who was falsely convicted of murder in Illinois, even though an attorney, Dale Coventry—read “officer of the court”—knew Logan was innocent.

The problem was the attorney couldn’t tell anyone because of attorney-lawyer confidentiality.

A reporter interviewed the former public defender, but didn’t carry the story the next step forward:

What is the legal profession going to do to keep this from happening again in the future?

You’d think at least one lawyer might be giving that some thought.
