Forty Attend Young Republican Organization Meeting

Last Wednesday, McHenry County Republican Central Committee Chairman Mike Tryon spoke to a meeting at the Nunda Township Hall organized by Brent Smith, Republican precinct committeeman for Nunda 21.

I saw him at the Pro-Life Victory PAC pig roast at Resurrection Center and asked him to send me some details. His report follows:

Welcome Efforts of
Young Republicans

Forty people attended a recent meeting held by McHenry County Republican Chairman Mike Tryon and Committeeman Brent Smith from Nunda Township to explore the possibility of establishing a new Young Republicans organization in the county.

In addressing the attendees both Tryon and Smith stressed the need to get more young people involved in the Republican Party. Former County Chairman Bill LeFew presented Tryon and Smith with a check for five hundred dollars to help start the organization. In presenting the check, LeFew stated that he appreciated their efforts and looked forward to their success.

Anyone interested in joining the group or looking for additional information should contact Brent Smith at coonpy@mc.net.

Young Republicans organizations are usually between the ages of 18 and 40 but the newly organized group welcome all inquiries. The McHenry County Republican Executive Committee/volunteers will act as mentors until the group is fully organized and chartered by the State of Illinois.
