The firm that says it is the oldest used car lot in Crystal Lake.

It certainly must have been successful because it bought Comet Cleaners’ property north on McHenry Avenue.

Now Coventry Motors has two buildings and, probably, more importantly, two signs—one on Route 14 and one on McHenry Avenue.

During the week that Bakers Square was closing up shop, Coventry Motors was proving Route 14 isn’t dead.

I just hope the bare light bulbs that have ringed its parking lot on this prominent Crystal Lake corner don’t reappear.
