Huntley Homecoming Parade

Before the Huntley School Board meeting yesterday, to which I arrived early, the Huntley High School Homecoming Parade was being held. Board member Kevin Gentry was kind enough to point me to it.

What follow are the photos I took. If anyone wants to provide identification for any of them in the comment section, I’ll be happy to post the information under the photos. I know there were class floats, for instance, but don’t know which float was built by which class.

I do remember that right after our family moved to Crystal Lake in 1958 that the Class of 1960 float was built in the garage and driveway of the home at 100 W. Crystal Lake Avenue that we were renting. It was within walking distance of Crystal Lake Community (now, Central) High School.

Our senior year it was built in Downtown Crystal Lake in a garage behind my father’s office.

All of the photos can be enlarged by clicking on them.
