Duffy’s Money

Starting with $135,422.33 on July 1st, 26th District Republican state senate candidate Dan Duffy has not yet reported how much he raised between then and a month before the election.

His opponent Bill Gentes has and made big news when he picked up $75,000 in one day from two candidates to succeed Emil Jones as Illinois Senate President.

However, Duffy more than matched that amount with two almost $44,000 contributions from the Illinois Senate Republican political action committee. My guess is they represent the cost of two district mailings. One was dated October 7th. The other was yesterday.

The total of Duffy’s contributions since October 7th is $125,543.

From most recent to October 7th Duffy’s contributions contributions appear below in reverse order of their receipt:

$43,872.90 – RSSCC
$5,000 – NFIB – Illinois Safe Trust
$5,000 – Illinois State Medical Society
$12,028.92 – Illinois State Republican Party
$1,000 – The Travelers Indemnity Company
$1,000 – Mark Duffy
$4,000 – Illinois Hospital Association PAC
$1,000 – Citizens for Dale A Righter Illinois State Senate
$500 – BARR Laboratories Inc.

$1,000 – Tooling & Manufacturing Association PAC
$1,250 – The Illinois Chamber Political Action Committee
$43,892.85 – RSSCC

It does not appear that the business community is giving up this seat without a fight.
