Bachmann Admits to $22.66 in Campaign Fund

There are some candidates who file campaign disclosure statements with the Illinois State Board of Elections on paper, rather than electronically.

These are aspirants with fewer financial resources than other candidates who are required to file via the internet.

Most are county board members.

You can find out what has been reported by calling the Board of Elections, but I haven’t taken the time to do so yet.

One candidate is running for countywide office.

Rather than waiting for me to phone the State Board and ask, he sent out a press release about his paucity of funds. It follows:

When I began my campaign, “Bachmann for Coroner,” I made a promise to myself, and to my family.

Rather than going deep into debt for my campaign, I promised to go Deep into viable ideas and ideals for the citizens of McHenry County.

I have held ZERO fundraisers, and had placed 4500 dollars into my campaign account, and when that was exhausted, my mission had been completed.

I now conclude my campaign, with $22.66

Should I be elected November 4Th, I will walk into office with no political baggage, nor will I be in debt-ed either personally or professionally.

A Coroners office is a very special and sacred office. It has been my intent, to the best of my ability, to keep my campaign as politically neutral as possible. I am here to serve citizens on ALL faiths, all races, and creeds. Irregardless of any Political Posture.

For me it has never been about the Politics. Rather, my campaign has been about education, and providing my life’s dedicated work within the death care industry, internationally.

Bringing a wealth of professional, social, and cultural experience back here to my home county, McHenry County. This journey, has been a distinct pleasure.

I wish all candidates well. (Emphasized sentences in the original email.)

The woman Bachmann is challenging, 28-year incumbent Marlene Lantz, reported raising $9,700 since July 1st.

Both have yard signs and 4X4’s.

Neither have enough money for a widespread mailing. My guess is that Lantz would spend her money on newspaper and radio ads.
