Message of the Day – Heat Seeking

Around my home, when I hear the phrase “heat seeking,” is usually a new Lego starship that my 11-year old son has created.

And I mean created.

Not following instructions, but out of his imagination.

Right brained, left handed kid.

So, we’re arriving at the First United Methodist Church of Crystal Lake and what does my son see?

Heat seeking sparrows.

That’s right, sparrows beneath a hot engine of a car.

And they fly up to be closer to the warmth, just like they gather in the bushes outside our sun porch when the space heater is venting heat outside.

It was so interesting I had to change lenses to get a halfway decent picture.

They were too fast for me though.

I couldn’t catch one flying up or down.
