Considering this is All Saints Day, I thought a close-up of part of it is relevant.

While we cry on earth, in Heaven we are promised there will be no more tears.

That’s what the sign on the gate to Heaven says in this painting.

It comes from Revelations 7:17b

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

And Revelations 21:4

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.

Last week, our new minister at the First United Methodist Church of Crystal Lake, Steve Bullmer, announced he would be celebrating All Saints Day this weekend.
