The Daily Herald’s Chuck Keeshan again scoops all other local papers in reporting that Edward F. Bachner IV, the guy who is charged with possession of the deadly toxin derived from puffer fish.

The Lake in the Hills guy stays in jail.

Flight risk, Judge Frederick J. Kapala thinks.

“The court finds that no condition or combination of conditions will reasonably assure the appearance of the defendant as required and the safety of persons in the community,” Kapala states, according to the Daily Herald.

Bachner wanted to live with his parents in Homer Glen and was willing to post $1 million in assets and wear a monitoring device.

Instead he stays in the Ogle County Jail.
