Jack Franks Says He Will File Impeachment Resolution Monday

If State Rep. Jack Franks said what I think he said on tonight’s WTTW’s Chicago Tonight when he appeared with State Senator Mike Murphy, Franks will file an impeachment resolution in the Illinois House on Monday.

There may have been an “if this does not happen” clause referring to House Speaker Mike Madigan’s putting impeachment on the fast tract. I didn’t record the program and wasn’t taking notes.

In any event, Franks is doing what I think some Republican should have done previously.

Franks says among the items in his bill of particulars will be Ali Ata’s admission that he paid Governor Rod Blagojevich for his job as Executive Director of the Illinois Finance Authority.

So, what will the electorate perceive?

That Democrats are cleaning up their own house.

Why do House Republicans miss opportunities like this?

You can note from the message under WTTW’s picture of State Rep. Jack Franks’ interview that the station has links to Illinois House leaders.

They only have email addresses to the Democrats, which certainly tells the tale.
