Jesse Jackson, Jr. Supporters Raise Money for Blagojevich Last Saturday Night

Yesterday Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr., asserted that he had no problem.

Although he refused to take question from reporters.

Jackson said he hadn’t done anything wrong.

Today, the Sun-Times wondered what was next for Jackson.

But, thanks to some very heavy lifting by Chicago Tribune reporters David Kidwell, John Chase nd Dan Mihalopoulos, readers learn that Jackson supporters held a fund raiser for Candidate 5 for the U.S. Senate seat of Barack Obama last Saturday.

“Details gathered from more than a dozen interviews, make clear that some political operatives were connecting support for (Governor Rod) Blagojevich to his choice for the Senate seat.”

Down farther in the article is this:

“Raghu (Nayak, an Indian-American who threw the fund raiser) said he needed to raise a million for Rod to make sure Jesse got the seat,” the second businessman said. “He said, ‘I can raise half of it, $500,000. The idea was that the other two would help raise the rest.”

No wonder Jackson is nervous.
