Just as in Algonquin Township, the only contest in McHenry Township was for township trustee.
In Algonquin Township all of the incumbents were re-nominated.
Not so in McHenry Township.
Vincent Neff was targeted for defeat by the Republican organization and they succeeded in ousting him from the board.
The “incumbent minus one” slate (for want of a better description), put his intended replacement on top of the other incumbents’ names on their petition.
Replacing Neff will be Craig Adams.
All the winners received more than twice the number of votes that Neff got.
The other incumbents went unchallenged in the GOP primary.
