Woodstock Baseball Team Rolls Out Name, Logo

McHenry County Blog reported on August 9, 2007, the Northwest Herald seemed to have made an arrangement with baseball promoters to run a team naming contest.

That’s what McHenry County College minutes said.

I see that the contest started the same day that the Northwest Herald sued me.

Somehow I missed it, being on vacation two weeks since then and all.

The contest is now over and “McHenry County K-Nines” is the name.

Generic mascot “Woody” will undoubtedly be cheaper than paying royalties to the Charles Schultz heirs for Woodstock, which would have been my choice.

Already, I can see area police dogs and their trainers at the opening game.

I took a look at the team web site and noticed that STAR 105 and Y 103.0 radio stations are “sponsors,” but the Northwest Herald is not.
