McHenry County Board Chairman Ken Koehler Gives Positive Signal on Slot Machines

Yesterday, I reported that the DuPage County Board had unanimously voted to ban slot machines (euphemistically known as “video poker” machines much as “gambling” is known as “gaming”).

I wondered in the story’s headline if the McHenry County Board would follow suit.

The alternative, obviously, is

“Show me the money!”

Here’s how McHenry County Board Chairman Ken Koehler was quoted in the Chicago Tribune yesterday:

“[We] have a lot of bars along the Wisconsin border and when the smoking ban took effect it certainly did not work in our favor. Perhaps this would give us a one-up on them.”
