8th District Watch – Walsh Holding Health Care Forum Thursday

April 08, 2010 By: Cal Skinner Category: 8th Congressional District, Arie Friedman, George W. Christy, Health Care, Health Care Refrom, Health Insurance, Heartland Institute, Joe Fehsenfeld, Joe Walsh, Melissa Bean, Peter Fotos

An interesting twist on the health care debate is a Wauconda forum being held by 8th congressional district challenger Joe Walsh.   More interesting was the Republican’s invitation to incumbent Melissa Bean to attend.

Since she refused to hold any Town Hall meetings prior to the vote, no one expects her to show up.

Here’s the Walsh release:

  1. I participated in a phone “town hall” with Bean the week before the vote. Called in, asked her a question, she answered. I don’t know what Mr. Walsh is referring to in his press release about “private meetings” but this one was quite public.

Mr. Walsh seems quite lucky to have Cal Skinner to publish his press releases no matter how inaccurate.

As a matter of fact, according to a letter he sent with another press release, Mr. Walsh invited Ms. Bean YESTERDAY. Can you say political stunt?

  3. Articles about Melissa Bean’s “private closed door meetings” appeared in the NW Herald, the Daily Herald and this Blog.

She never was available personally to ask questions about the health issue via the telephone at either her D.C. or Schaumburg office.

She is out of touch with her constituents. As she will see come November elections.
