One type of event the Northwest Herald has stopped covering is political fund raisers.
That’s too bad, because who attends and who talks to whom gives clues to what is happening behind the scenes in McHenry County politics.
Such events are also places to meet statewide candidates, as those who didn’t leave early found when GOP gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady showed up at State Rep. Mike Tryon’s fund raiser.
This past weekend Dennis Palys, the Democratic Party candidate for McHenry County Board in the district with the most acres. He raised some money at his home in Wonder Lake.
