Huntley’s Growing TEA

I got this intriguing email from “Ordinary Joe” in Huntley, which I share with you below:

There’s a new sheriff in town in the Huntley area.

It’s called the Huntley Area Tea Party.

It got up and running at the beginning of the month, and the coordinator Linda Bahwell already has over 30 wonderful seniors from the Del Webb community and area involved and rarin’ to go.

While the Courier-News did publish a letter to the editor about it (which produced some interest from readers), the Daily Herald apparently felt that it shouldn’t publish a similar letter.

A general/informational meeting for the group will be planned and scheduled early this next week [which through my delay in posting this is already over. Sorry!].

One participant is already scheduling/hosting a series of constitution classes (awesome!) for the group and anyone interested.

At the end of this note I will copy/past the facebook link that has been set up for the group.

We are quite anxious to spread the word as heavily as possible about this group because interest seems high from this segment of citizens, and would appreciate any help you and/or your blog could provide.

I am also in the process of setting up a Conservative Activist Training Session(s) for June 19th (tentatively scheduled date).

I do not have all of the final details yet (location, cost…which will be minimal, etc), but the program is set for this first one, as is the moderator.

If this first one, a rather basic “let’s get our feet wet” session garners sufficient interest, I intend to set up 3 other more detailed sessions for July, August, and September.

All will be held here in the Fox Valley area.

I have also attached the agenda for that first session.  As with the HATP news, I am trying to disseminate information about the activist training session out as far as it can possibly get for area folks to see.

The link I spoke of above: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?topic=14933&uid=94022000167#!/group.php?gid=94022000167

Thanks for your help and consideration on these matters.  And thanks for bringing to light the information of the All Kids program.

Huntley’s Growing TEA — 2 Comments

  1. I can only hope that “Constitution class” will cover topics like:

    “Majority rules”

“Disagreeing with the president doesn’t make him a Tyrant”

    “The redress of grievances”

  2. They must be growing something awfully strange in that band of tea they’re drinking. My tea doesn’t make me hate people I disagree with. Maybe they’re smoking it, instead of drinking it!
