Mike Mahon Rolls Out Yard Signs, Campaign Issue in Huntley

Mike Mahon for Sheriff yard signs line this Huntley street.

The sign war has begun in the McHenry County Sheriff’s race.

Those driving through this neighborhood in Huntley could hardly fail to notice the advertisements for Mike Mahon, the Democratic Party’s challenger to Republican incumbent Keith Nygren.

And look at this 4 by 4 foot sign.

This American Flag-bedecked four by four foot sign in Huntley says, "Mike Mahon for Full-Time Sheriff."

From its message, it appears that Mahon is going to make an issue about Nygren’s spending time at his Florida and Wisconsin vacation homes and keeping in touch by cell phone, just as GOP primary opponent Zane Seipler did.

Nygren has yard signs in storage going back three campaigns. Given Mahon’s early roll out of his, his people will soon start a counter attack.
