Although the money that incumbent State Rep. Jack Franks’ opponent raised is small compared to the over $1.3 million that Franks had at the beginning of this year, Republican challenger John O’Neill did balance his campaign books.
Not much of a surplus, but a lot better than the multi-billion deficit being run by the Democrats running Springfield.
And, O’Neill didn’t support Rod Blagojevich for governor twice the way Jack Franks did.
Most of O’Neill’s contributions are under $150. Only three require itemization:
- $250 – Pro-life Victory PAC, Spring Grove
- $250 – Diane Wamberg, Barrington Hills
- $175 – Kathleen Kuchta, McHenry
The other $2,795 came in smaller contributions.
What did O’Neill spend his money on? You see the items over $150 below:
- $986 – Bull Valley Golf Club, fund raising, hall rental
- $634 – Minuteman Press, McHenry, printing
- $560 – Think Ink, Crystal Lake, promotional items
- $400 – McHenry Baseball Association, promotional items
- $202 – McHenry Public Library, equipment
- $193 – Best Buy, equipment
- $195 – Meijer, promotional items
No debt, but only $336 in the till.
