A while back McHenry County’s paper of record started taking its articles down after a couple of days.
While I make a practice of linking to newspaper articles I site or quote, that change in operating procedure made it almost worthless to continue doing so for the Northwest Herald.
For $2.95 one can still buy access to a past article, but, somehow, I doubt that generates much cash.
Now the Shaw paper is announcing that for pennies a week, one can receive the email edition of its paper.
Is that a commentary on the paper’s traditional mode of circulation?
How long can it be before free access to articles posted on the internet disappears?

It is no loss. The Northwest Herald does not cover the news and when they do, it is not accurate or truthful. They probably do not want the comments. Some pols certainly do not.
