McHenry County’s Democratic Party candidate for sheriff Mike Mahon has sent out a press release about a fundraiser in Lakewood.   Here it is:

MAHON FINDING SUPPORT IN OPPONENT’S PARTY

More than 50 McHenry County Republicans and independents were in attendance at an informal fund-raiser Friday night at a private home in Lakewood to meet Mike Mahon, candidate for McHenry County Sheriff.

Registered GOP members as well as community leaders and Chiefs of Police from several communities in McHenry County enjoyed the get-acquainted session to share their views about the future of the Sheriff’s Office and hear from the candidate.

Thunder and lightning in the background didn’t dampen the attendees’ spirits.

All expressed satisfaction in the give and take of views and more than a few took the opportunity to make a contribution to Mahon’s campaign.

One of the attendees, Stephanie Woolbright, stated,

“I really didn’t know what to expect from Mike but after hearing his ideas and his thoughts on being a Sheriff who is a leader and not purely a politician I will be voting for a Democrat for the first time in my life. With his background and ideas I believe he will make a big difference as Sheriff.”
