Walsh Says Pioneer Press “Actively Working to Re-Elect Ms. Bean,” Covers Up Her “Hiding”

Not only does Pioneer Press not point out that Melissa Bean has not held a publicly announced meeting that one can attend without paying something, but the Chicago Tribune's North edition ignores that attribute of her service as well. Note also that Walsh's name isn't in the Tribune headline, even though it has the same number of letters as "Rival."

A press release from Republican candidate for Congress in the 8th District, Joe Walsh:

Bean Hides From Voters, Media Blames The Voters

So it comes to this: for eight months, Democrat Incumbent Melissa Bean has refused to answer questions from constituents.

She never held a town hall prior to her vote for Obamacare, she hasn’t held one since, and she’s spent the time since that vote hiding from voters in her district who asked her not to make that vote.

Unlike six years ago, when the media ripped Republican Phil Crane for avoiding the voters and not debating Bean, the local media has completely ignored the voters concerns this year. We all know the reason the local media has behaved this way – editorially, they are liberal and would prefer Ms. Bean remain the Congresswoman.

But the local media, namely the Pioneer Press, struck a new low today in their not at all surprising endorsement of Bean, when they attacked those very voters for having the nerve to demand their Congresswoman answer their questions.

From today’s Pioneer Press endorsement:

“Further, she (Bean) has been as visible as possible without subjecting herself to the contrived vitriol of some of Republican Joe Walsh’s ardent supporters, who appear more concerned with attacking Bean than listening to what she has to say.”

This is outrageous and clearly shows the Pioneer Press is actively working to re-elect Ms. Bean.

Bean has been as visible as possible?

What race are they watching?

All she has done for the past eight months is spend taxpayer dollars on her congressional mailings, bombard voters with automated phone calls, and stage a fake town hall or two usually with a “thug” in tow to intimidate voters from asking questions.

Her very campaign has made it a policy to appear in public “un-announced” to avoid voters questions.

That should be the story!

But instead the media’s wrath is turned on the very voters whose questions have gone unanswered for months. This is despicable.

“The voters in the 8th district asked Ms Bean not to vote for Obamacare, cap and trade, and the stimulus.

“She knew they didn’t want her to make those votes but she ignored their wishes and sided instead with Nancy Pelosi. And because voters have respectfully requested of Ms. Bean for months that she explain and defend those votes, the media attacks them for ‘attacking’ her.”

“Ms. Bean does not deserve to be re-elected because she is hiding from her constituents and voted for Obamacare, cap and trade, and the stimulus. The local media has just joined her in making very clear how poorly they think of those constituents for demanding she defend her votes,” said Walsh.

  1. You know why she voted the way she did, because the majority told her too vote that way.

Because the majority of the people who live here wanted it.

The few don’t outway the many in our district if you are upset with it go to Russia they will fix it for you.

This isn’t a dictatorship, we are a Republic.

The rich don’t rule all of us and if you don’t like it leave, this is our home and we aren’t giving it up.

Joe move back where you came from and quit crying, thats all you’ve done since you moved here.

CRY CRY,CRY sounds fimilar like drill, drill, drill.

Kind of has a ring to it doesn’t it.

Sounds like McCain and Palin then boom oil spill.

Thats what we will get with Joe in office another spill.

Your money into someone elses pocket.

  2. Very well, when the majority votes Bean out of office next week, I assume you will gladly accept that your minority opinion is no longer relevant, and that Joe Walsh need not give you the time of day, or care what you think, or ever listen to any Democrat in this district for the next two years.

    Your ignorance is stunning.

A Representative in a republic is supposed to exercise judgment as a representative of ALL the people, not just serve as a yes man or woman for a party leader or whoever pays the most.

That means listening respectfully and considering other points of view, even when one disagrees, rather than acting like an arrogant know-it-all who can do as he / she pleases just because of a plurality of votes in the latest election.

If you prefer to be disrespected when you lose the election, that is your choice, but I will hold Joe Walsh accountable just as I hold Bean accountable for listening to and respecting ALL the voters of this district.

  3. Thats like you hold the County Board responsible for their actions or lack there of with McCullum Lake and Rohm and Haas and Morton.

All I see is people doing their best to cover it up.

Just like with Bush and WMD.

Cover everything up so no one can question it and lie about what is really going on.

I don’t like when people lie to me.

And that is what you all like to do. Can’t take responsibility for your actons. Just like to call people names. T

hey say they are Religous but they lie, I thought one of the ten commandments is though shalt not lie.

  4. Jeff you are out of touch with your constituents, you will find out once you get 2% of the vote.

  5. Bruce…you cannot possibly represent all of the people.

You do represent the majority as in the majority who put you in office.

You guys get so long toothed with this Healthcare vote.

The fact is the District DID and CONTINUE to want Healthcare Reform.

Of course in your circle, that is not true, but your circle is nowhere near the majority!

You and Joe can spin all day, but you are dead WRONG on this one.

  6. Jeff, you are so correct on Walsh. He is a cry baby. What voting record does he have? What job has he held? He has nothing, zero credibility, and only a background of 2 times where he ran as a social liberal, for gun control and pro choice. Now, he moved? Into our dist and is now a right wing conservative. Although, in a previous campaign, he claimed he ” is not some right- wing conservative”. Now, if you disagree with him, his supporters and Walsh cry. Poor Joe. When Walsh loses, by self-destruction, he will file bankruptcy and we the people will pay for his three time losing streak.
