With absentee ballots, you never know if they will be returned.

But with early voting being electronic in McHenry County, once a person casts his or her ballot, it’s a done deal.

McHenry County Clerk Kathie Schultz reports that as of Tuesday 6,789 people have cast early ballots.

Another 2,814 have absentee ballots.

There are 202,033 registered voters, so 4.7% have already voted.

Early voting is electronic and no paper trail. Not a good thing.Best to vote on Nov 2nd, the next best is absentee

  2. I voted early and the votes were recorded electronically and then printed to a hard copy. The poll workers were efficient, explained the process and it was a very eficient process. There is a paper trail in the event a recount is needed. Maybe you should vote electronically and see how the process works before saying there is no ‘paper trail.’

Earth mother, your ignorance was showing. Early voting is done in the same manner as voting is done on election day. It’s been done that way in McHenry County – and elsewhere – for a number of election cycles.

Larry attempted to cure your ignorance but you didn’t let him. They say that “ignorance can be cured, but stupid is forever.”

Wasn’t it also said (by John Wayne, I think), that “Life is tough! It’s tougher if you’re stupid!”

    Have a nice life!
