Nygren’s Campaign Literature Indicates $10 Million More in Jail Rental Income Since Primary Campaign

Take a look at the primary campaign piece from McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren:

In the pimrary election Sheriff Keith Nygren claimed "$51 million plus" had been earned from renting out the jail.

Compare its contents on jail rental to the $61 million claimed on the fall election piece that the Sheriff asked me not to distribute in my precinct:

On this fall campaign piece, Sheriff Keith Nygren says the jail expansion and rental program has raised "$61 million+."

So, if my subtraction is correct, Nygren is claiming that $10 million was brought in during a period of less than a year.

Nygren’s Campaign Literature Indicates $10 Million More in Jail Rental Income Since Primary Campaign — 11 Comments

  1. I’m just glad Nygren stayed positive. Say what you want about the man he was attacked repeatedly both in the primary and in this race yet his ads stay consistent in talking about programs and policy.

I truly wish more politicians would follow this model instead of the vicious personal attacks Nygrens opponents have strolled out of the gutter with.

Thanks for staying positive and speaking to the issues, Keith Nygren. There was certainly some amazing personal stuff you could have taken out ads about to attack your opponents but you did not stoop to their level.

  2. are you. It’s been a slice. But it’s over we can no longer go on meeting this way. I can’t take your BS any longer. Live long and my God bless

  3. Patrick, I suppose it must be hard to take that your candidate ran a campaign about mudslinging and the opposing candidate ran on issues. This whole campaign was summed up nicely by the ads in the last day. Simply take a look at the personal hit job ad run in the NW Herald compared to Nygrens ad here.

One man ran with class, and one man ran on the personal animosity and vile.

Thanks again Keith Nygren for keeping your campaign clean. Voters in mchenry county will reject the Cook County gutter politics.

  4. Yes, I second that. Thanks Sheriff Nygren for not stooping to negative ad’s. It would have been easy given some of the huge targets in your opponents closet, but you chose to not stoop to his level. Well done.

  5. If the Sheriff was in town more and would just answer a few simple questions it would have been a different story.
Lets just do some basic math for any business.
Your Bring in $61 million dollars in revenue in business that is know as sales
In Business you have costs of good sold or services which you subtract from the revenue.
That leaves you with a gross profit.
If you did not subtract your costs then you would be taxed on the $61 million.
All the Sheriff had to do was answer what it cost. A simple answer but he repeated refused to answer.
Because he refused to answer and only give us half of the math one can assume you don’t want the bottom line brought to light. That would mean is cost more than you brought in!
Since his literature says this is the tax payers money then tell the tax payers what the bottom line is. This is not a trick question but is being made into an issue by not responding to simple question.

  6. Speaking of last minute contributions, I see Mahon accepted a cool grand from The Teamsters! Hey hey!!

  7. “Say what”, the counties budget is a matter of public record. If the Mahon campaign could not figure that out then they have deeper issues than many of us feared. Your argument is kind of like criticizing the Sheriff for not telling us in his ad’s how much we spent on Squad cars last year…It’s public record, look it up for yourself.

  8. So even a quick perusal of the Sheriff’s general fund budget (that is public for all to see online).

Shows in the last 5 years the Sheriff has shown a 149% growth in Revenue and only about 50% growth in expenditures.

I doubt you could find another government body running that kind of trend.

  9. So the old posse leader won his job again. let us see how long he keeps it. Let the law suits begin.
