Joe Walsh was having a good time at the McHenry Fiesta Days Parade.
Here’s the press release that was sent out about 4 AM:
(Grayslake, IL) Joe Walsh addressed over 500 volunteers and supporters at their victory celebration in Wauconda, IL at the Mill Creek Banquets and stated
“Tonight was a victory for the people of the 8th district and, though it was close, we now feel confident that the remaining precincts will only strengthen our margin of victory.”
Walsh looks forward to a quick reporting of the few remaining open precincts and will soon begin the preparation work for a respectful transition to represent the people of the 8th district.
The latest results posted by the Chicago Tribune are below:
Joe Walsh leads Melissa Bean by 797 votes with 2% of the precincts outstanding, as well as early and absentee votes from at least McHenry County.

It was interesting to FINALLY see the major networks show up for live interviews, having shunned the 8th District during the entire campaign as a shoe-in victory for Bean.
I looked high and low for Cal, asking many supporters if they had seen him, but he must have been busy elsewhere. The one common denominator was that they ALL said he had the best blog out there!
