Judge Caldwell on Page 38 of Grafton Township Separation of Powers Case

The Grafton Township Board in action.

The principals were gathered in Judge Michael Caldwell’s courtroom at 9 awaiting the decision in the case between Grafton Township Supervisor Linda Moore and the Grafton Township Trustees.

This is a case that never seems to end.

The Judge told the late-arriving attorneys that he wasn’t finished, but that he was on page 38 of his decision.

He told the lawyers that he would finish up by Wednesday and mail each side a copy.

After the hearing, Township Trustee Ancel Glink litigator Thomas DiCianni pointed out that the matter to be decided was “only a preliminary injunction. The case isn’t over.”

Asked what today’s hearing meant, Linda Moore’s attorney, John Nelson, replied,

“It means it’s a long decision.

“I think I predicted this is an order neither side is necessarily going to enjoy.

“(Both sides have) a complaint for injunction underneath all of this that will go on.”

I asked if the case would go all the way to the Illinois Supreme Court and was told,

“Based on the last case, not much happened after (the decision was handed down by Judge Caldwell).”

  1. Page 38 out of how many??

    This is absurd.

Our township is in the toilet and we have no way of getting out until our supervisor is removed. Pathetic.

  2. It’s a layer of Government that has outlived its reason to exist except in rare instances.

  3. …you mean like while Linda is supervisor…for instance? It seams to me that this layer of Government performed just fine until Linda came and screwed everyone.

  4. I agree whole-heartedly Light. The only people who are saying that the township needs to be abolished are Linda Moore’s so-called friends/supporters. They need to GET OVER IT!!!!! The township isn’t going anywhere.

As soon as LM is kicked out on her butt, then we’ll get a real leader in there.

  7. By running well, are you referring to borrowing funds to build a building that was so poorly planned that it warranted an injunction three times to stop it?
Or was it the $500,000 that was spent before she took office to build a Taj Mahal that was not done legally?
