How Will Pam Althoff Vote on Civil Unions?

Pam Althoff

It’s pretty much a given that Senator Dan Duffy will oppose the civil unions bill that is supposed to be voted upon today in the Illinois State Senate.

When I called State Senator Pam Althoff’s office, however, her secretary told me that she had not yet revealed to her how her boss was going to vote on the bill.

She asked for my number so she could call me back.

Some speculate that Althoff may factor in the possibility that she would be put in the same state senate district as the more conservative Duffy by Democrats trying to create as much chaos as possible among Republican politicians. The hope would be that Republicans would not be able to reconcile before the presidential election, giving Barack Obama a better chance of re-election.

When I get that return phone call from Althoff, I’ll let you know what she tells me.

Or, if the roll call comes first, I’ll post it when it is available.

In yesterday’s vote in the Illinois House, Mike Tryon voted against the bill, while Jack Franks and Mark Beaubien supported it.

  1. sad she doesn’t believe in equal rights or her oath to defend the Constitution

  2. I’m voting against Pam when she runs again. However, that will not be because of her vote, it will be despite it. She is such a weak senator, she at least voted her constituency. But not enough for her to get my vote. Unless Shepley runs against her. Then I have some thinking to do.
