Here’s 16th Congressional District Representative Don Manzullo’s press release:

Manzullo Votes to Prevent Huge Tax Hikes that Will Put

More Americans on the Unemployment Lines

(WASHINGTON) Congressman Don Manzullo (R-Egan) voted today against a misguided Democrat leadership bill that would increase taxes on America’s small employers and force them to cut more jobs.

Manzullo, focused on trying to help employers put Americans back to work, said 750,000 small employers who pay income taxes at individual rates (S-corps, partnerships, LLCs, etc.) would face huge tax increases in the Democrats’ bill that would raise income tax rates on those in the top two tax brackets, which includes half of all small business income.

“Small employers historically create about 75 percent of all net new jobs each year.

“At a time when we are desperately trying to help employers put Americans back to work, it makes no sense to raise taxes on those who have the ability to create jobs,” Manzullo said. “In these very difficult economic times, the last thing we should be doing is raising taxes on anyone.

“With unemployment continuing to exceed 16 percent in some northern Illinois communities, we must focus on policies that create jobs, and these huge tax increases will just put more Americans on the unemployment lines.”

Manzullo has been heartened by ongoing negotiations between House Republican leaders and the Administration aimed at extending all tax rates with no tax increases. Congressional Democrat leaders’ decision to wait so long to deal with the tax extensions has created uncertainty among employers that has delayed job creation. It is also threatening to delay income tax refunds for millions of Americans, Manzullo said.

“It is unconscionable that these Congressional leaders have waited so long to deal with this issue that we have known about for many years,” Manzullo said.

“The delay has caused uncertainty that has cost jobs and is now threatening to delay much-needed income tax refunds for millions of Americans. Congress should act now and extend all the current tax rates so we can help our employers put Americans back to work.”

  1. What a complete and utter crock.

At this point the only real question about Manzullo is if he is either a socipathic liar or is simply no longer capable of comprehending the difference between reality and the cartoonish delusions that compose his farcical version of that same reality.

The fact is Manzullo voted to raise taxes on the middle class and thats exactly why he should be removed from office.

  2. noticed his law signs all over Marengo. maybe he could devote time or his donated corporate funds to picking up the trash
