Manzullo Announces Cary-Grove High School Air Force Academy Nominees

Two Cary Residents Appointed
to U.S. Air Force Academy

[ROCKFORD] Congressman Don Manzullo (R-Egan) today announced that two Cary residents have received an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO.

  • Elaina Rose Cammarata, 18, will graduate from Cary-Grove High School this May. At Cary-Grove, Elaina was a member of the honor roll. She is also a Level 10 gymnast and has competed in club gymnastics for 12 years. Elaina is also a member of her church choir and church youth group. Elaina is the daughter of Frank and Rosalie Cammarata of Cary.
  • Paul Nathan Rands, 20, was graduated from Cary-Grove High School in May 2008. Paul attended Northwestern University and is presently serving on a 2-year Spanish speaking church mission in Arizona where he is a trainer, district leader, zone leader and Assistant to the President. At Northwestern, Paul started on the wrestling team as a true freshman. At Cary-Grove, he was an Illinois state freestyle wrestling champion, all-state wrestler, and three-time team captain. In football, he was also 1st team all state and team captain. Paul was also a member of the National Honor Society, an Eagle Scout and Homecoming King. Paul is the son of Steven and Linda Rands of Cary.
