McHenry Man Busted on Federal Drug Charges

You see Patrick Fitzgerald’s name coming out of Chicago so often, you might not realize that his jurisdiction goes all the way to the Illinois side of the Mississippi River.

Today a press release comes from his Rockford office about an indictment of Brian M. Blum for distributing cocaine. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Marshals Service cooperated with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

Yesterday a Federal Grand Jury in Rockford indicted Blum, who is 31, with two counts of distributing cocaine.

If found guilty, Blum could be sentenced up to 30 years in jail and fined up to $2 million.
