Where Does Sheriff Nygren Live?

McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren and his wife sold their Hebron home.

A reader of Gus Philpott’s Woodstock Advocate picked up on something I didn’t notice on the Illinois Real Estate Transfer Declaration I posted yesterday.

Note that the address requested is the after sale address. The one given is of the home being sold.

County officials have to live in the county they serve, but, as people are finding out in Chicago, residency is more a matter of intent than anything else.

We know that Nygren’s wife is a resident of Florida. Because of the friendship between the buyer and the seller, maybe Nygren has a bedroom in the Hebron home.

Nygren is still registered at that address.

Or it could be that Sheriff Nygren is planning to resign this year or later before his term expires, allowing the McHenry County Board to appoint a successor for three plus years?

That is not an unknown practice to replace countywide elected officials in McHenry County and scuttlebutt has it that was Nygren’s plan before he won the Republican primary election by such a large margin.

The appointment route has the advantage of giving the appointed person incumbency with all the advantages that conveys.

It is not unheard of to have a sheriff who does not spend much time in McHenry County. As I have mentioned before, Sheriff Ed Dowd (R-Crystal Lake) had his checks sent to his Texas home for the last two years (1964-66) he was in office.

Where Does Sheriff Nygren Live? — 11 Comments

  1. Man-now you’re starting to sound like Gus and respond to rumors spread by him too-how about, he hasn’t left the house yet, Krauses haven’t taken possession yet, the purchase of Nygren’s new home hasn’t gone through yet, etc.

Take your pick-but NOOOOOOOOOOO-Nygren is moving to Florida, doesn’t live in McHenry County, is going to retire, etc. Got ANYTHING else that seems to make sense to the simple minded “oh my God, he’s doing wrong” with NO EVIDENCE to support your claims?

Sorry, thought you had more class than this kind of “reporting” represents.
Guess I was wrong, just like you two will be proven to be wrong.

  2. Maybe they share a bedroom, it gets lonely with Marge in Florida. I bet the paychecks start getting cashed in FL or WI.

  3. I see Krause got his mortgage from Nygren’s favorite lender,Home State Bank. Didn’t Milliman talk about special loans from that bank to under qualified hispanics in his deposition.

  4. Krause took over his old house with a new mortgage on 07/30/10, divorce I’m guessing. Then sold his house on 11/18/10. Then bought Nygren’s on 12/03/10. If he hasn’t taken possession then where is he living.

  5. AZ – You just better give up on Nygren. He is sinking. Sorry you supported the wrong people for sheriff. Hope you did not invest money or sweat equity.

  6. The FBI has already discredited Milimann, so whatever he says that you choose to believe is your problem.

Now we have to worry about where Krause is living too?

Who cares, and it’s none of your or our business, UNLESS you can PROVE wrong-doing, and I do stress PROVE.

Your hate of Nygren, and Gus’s also, won’t ALLOW you to to think other than precieved “bad” things have or are happening.

Neither you nor I have a “dog “in this fight, so I guess you can believe whatever you choose, truthful or not.

I do, however, like your “handle”; very cute 5th grader -like.

  7. AZ – Read the new article Cal posted. The Trib does not chase ghosts.

  8. Hey Cal I thought over 2 years they had to have a special election?

No? Maybe I was miss informed.

Anyway the big man missed a bullet from Milliman.

But those around him might just take a hit. i don’t think any one is going to go down for what the big man may have done.

He might just get out of dodge and enjoy as much time as he can. Remember they caught Ryan and Burge when they were retired.(not that I’m saying the big guy did anything wrong).

It must be embarrassing to the residents of McHenry County that the only newspaper doing any real investigative reporting is in Chicago, when you have that big paper right there in McHenry County.

After all Nygren kept saying that McHenry wasn’t Cook County.
    (The Plot Thickens)

  9. AssSupporter, the FBI did not clear Nygren of anything, they just need more evidence.

I think Milliman wanted immunity before giving all the info he has.

What about the state police investigation, did you know about that one.

Seipler has also refiled his request for a special proecutor, the judge did not dismiss that on the merits of the claims, only on the conflict issue.
