District 300 Schools Close a Second Day

Here’s the message from the Carpentersville-based unit district:

Good afternoon. With a storm of such magnitude that hit our communities, I thought it was necessary to travel today throughout our district to observe our facilities and speak to local police departments.  Since we are the sixth largest school district in the state, covering 118 square miles, the safety conditions vary between each of our school sites.  Despite District 300 Building & Grounds’ best efforts, we cannot guarantee that each of our 26 schools will be ready for students and staff tomorrow.  With this in mind, District 300 schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, February 3.

Each principal will send a separate message telling parents whether or not after-school practices, performances, and competitions will be held as planned.

I apologize if this is an inconvenience for you.  But the decision has been made with our priority of student safety.  Stay warm, be safe, and we will be back in full operation on Friday, February 4.

Truly,

Michael Bregy
Superintendent Elect for School District 300

  1. Is D-300’s Superintendent still living in Illinois?

Or has he skaddalled south and couldn’t bother posting the official notice?

“For the kids” has the taxpayers paying Mr. Arndt for doing next to nothing for a year.
