Cary Resident Appointed to West Point
[ROCKFORD] Congressman Don Manzullo (R-Egan) today announced that Benjamin F. Sturgeon of Cary, Illinois, has received an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY.
Benjamin will graduate from Northridge Preparatory School this May. At Northridge, Benjamin is a member of the National Honor Society. He is the captain of the debate team and qualified for the national tournament in Albany, NY. He was also class President last year and was a semi-finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Competition.
In addition, Benjamin is member of the varsity soccer team and played lacrosse in Cary for the last four years
Benjamin is the son of Jeffrey and Karen Sturgeon of Cary.
He may want to find out what he needs to know in order to obtain the go-ahead and be allowed to eat the first meal served on his first day.
