State Rep. Mike Tryon was calling Republicans late last week in his role as Chairman of the McHenry County Republican Party. His automated phone call asked people to come to the annual Lincoln Day Dinner, this year in Crystal Lake.
Here’s what he said:
“Hi. This is Mike Tryon the McHenry County Republican Chairman.
“I understand your frustration with the situation in Springfield and Washington in the current economy.
“That’s why I’m inviting you to join me for this years Lincoln Day Dinner at D’Andrea’s Banquets in Crystal Lake on February 19th at 6PM.
“Please press one for more information.”
I don’t have the information given over the phone, but, if you email Executive Director Geri Davis at email@example.com, you can make reservations.
The cost is $100 per person or $175 per couple.
It’s not cheap, but the goal of a fund raiser is to raise funds.
While not as enticing as giving to a candidate’s campaign during the excitement of a campaign, it costs money to keep an office open. The office is at 6315 Northwest Hwy. in Crystal Lake. That’s at the tip of the “V” in the Crystal Lake Plaza. The phone is 815-344-4559.
Speaking at the event will be newly-elected U.S. Senator Mark Kirk.
If you haven’t met newly-elected Congressman Joe Walsh, you will be able to do so.
