In response to President Barack Obama’s deciding the Solicitor General will not defend the Defense of Marriage Act, Congressmen Don Manzullo and Joe Walsh has signed onto a resolution

 

The two Illinois legislators joined 24 others in putting their names on House Resolution 143.

It directs the U.S. House Speaker to take “any and all actions necessary” to defend the Federal law.

  1. So behind the times…70% of Americans do not support DOMA. Are we that much of a Hillrodia in the 8th District…then again I have seen in the 8th where the Confederate Flag is bigger that the U.S. flag! Get on with the real issues affecting this country….like jobs going overseas!

  2. DOMA is stupid – a concern for old people who want people discriminated the “way their grandpa used to do it!”

    Someday the old people will die-off, and the country will be led by those of us with more progressive sensibilities. Huzzah for young people!

  3. I suppose the only question here is if Walsh are either
    a) not competent enough to comprehend that the COTUS applies to all people
    or
    b) in violation of their oaths of office.

    We know Manzullo is a homophobic bigot, that is a simple fact. Walsh is a teabaglican, so facts really aren’t a major motivator to him.

  5. AHH the blissfull ignorance of youth! Of course none of you realize that no society that has supported homosexuality has ever lasted very long.
