Huntley Police Investigate Illegal Fireworks and Explosives

The Huntley Police Department is investigating a case involving illegal fireworks being manufactured in a residence located in the Georgian Place Subdivision.

 

The Huntley Police Department obtained information about a 14 year juvenile who was posting videos of himself on the internet creating explosive devices similar to M-80s and other dangerous fireworks.

During the process of the investigation, the Huntley Police Department with the assistance of the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) and the Kane County Bomb Squad went to the residence located at 10701 Golden Gate Dr. to investigate further. Officers arrived at the residence at approximately 1:00 pm.

At the residence officers located several substances and materials that are consistent with creating dangerous explosive devices. All the substances and materials were confiscated and removed from the residence.

At this time there is no immediate danger to the community or threat to public safety.

The Huntley Police Department is continuing the investigation at this point and as of this press release no charges have been filed. There is no further information available at this time.
