Planned Parenthood Not Licensed in Illinois

April 12, 2011 By: Cal Skinner Category: Abortion, Freedom of Information Act, Illinois Department of Public Health, Illinois River Winery, Inspection, License, Planned Parenthood

This may not be a shock to some readers, but it certainly was to me.

Planned Parenthood, a major abortion provider in Illinois, is not licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Take a look the reply to my Freedom of Information request below:

No license, no inspections.

Does that strike anyone as strange?

Facilities aren’t licensed for types of practice; individual doctors are. The closest facility Planned Parenthood has is in Aurora; perhaps a request for licenses issued to that facility would turn something up?

Also, I think IDFPR (Department of Professional Regulation) would handle those licenses, not IDPH.

Pete is right; the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation would hold the records you desire.
